with this ring, I thee wed
Man and wife.
They are at last man and wife, he hers and she his -- the Lord and Lady Percy.
It has been quite a day.
When the festivities are finally done, they have burned a great many candles, eaten a great deal of food, danced many a dance. Elizabeth is the one who finally takes Harry's hand, covering a yawn, and tugs him towards the door of the hall. The remaining guests raise a cheer and a cup as the couple head upstairs to their rooms.
Kate leans on Harry as they ascend the stairs, loose-limbed and smiling from exhaustion.

It's all he can do not to take the steps two at a time. He leans into her shoulder, grinning. "Say you not so -- wilt thou sleep so early?"

Not when they've reached the landing near the chamber and he may kiss her against the wall.
no subject
She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses back, humming happily.
But before they can get too involved, she breaks the kiss and nuzzles his jaw. "We've rooms for this -- with no servants to think of."
no subject
He twines his fingers with hers and draws back, if but a little. "Then, my lady, lead on."
no subject
Enough. She can think of what the future holds later. Harry's hand in hers and the warmth of him by her side are distracting her, anyway.
no subject
The bed is large.
And he's already kissing her again.
no subject
She makes a startled, amused noise against his mouth and cups his face in her hands, rubbing her thumb along his cheek.
no subject
He leans into her, takes a step or two toward the bed. When he pulls back, it's only far enough to speak, and no more. "Awake, my lady?"

A few more steps, the kissing hungrier now, until they're bumping up against the foot of the bed. He knows he must be patient, but his fingers keep skimming the lines of her neck, and she smells like a wedding night, and he's her husband and she's his wife, and -- only the knowledge that she's never done this before checks him at all.

"Harry . . ."
They are just not close enough yet. She wraps her arms around his waist, kissing him again -- and again, because she can -- and again, because he's her husband.
no subject
He kisses beneath her jaw, and under her ear, and then, his hand on her hip: "Art thou as impatient as I am?"
no subject

Back to kissing her neck and shoulder, then, if she'll be so glib.
no subject
"And hurried Harry, hm?"
Is this the part where they start taking off each other's clothes?
She wouldn't mind getting out of the wedding dress, truth be told.
no subject
He'd be in favor of removing clothes. He's even toying with the laces at the back of her dress, though -- well, it's not so much toying as fumbling. He's never had to undress a lady in such fine clothes before.
no subject
"I'd have that off, if thou wouldst help me."
no subject
He circles behind her and, after some unknotting, begins to tug the laces free. There, at the nape of her neck, the delicate rise of her bones. He presses his lips there as his hands keep moving and the dress loosens around her.
no subject
She shivers again as the cloth releases its hold, as the cooler air of the room touches her skin.
no subject
Better to do this now, to shuck his jacket and pull off his boots before he'll be too far gone, before they'll get in the way.
He takes her skirt in both hands and raises his arms.
no subject
Well, this is -- new.
no subject
"Help me, Kate." He presses his hand against the warm skin at her waist to turn her toward him. "Or I may be moved to poetry."
